Edinburgh Travel and Arrival Tips: Get There Smoothly

By Train

ScotRail runs extra services from Glasgow, Dundee, and beyond to Haymarket Station, just a 15-minute walk from Murrayfield. Book return tickets early and plan to arrive by 6 PM to allow time for entry.

By Coach

Big Green Coach offers eco-friendly rides from cities like Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Dundee straight to the stadium. They handle arrivals and after-show departures, helping avoid travel bottlenecks.

By Car & Park-and-Ride

Avoid driving in, traffic restrictions and road closures are in effect around Murrayfield on show days, particularly from 2 PM to late at night. Use park-and-ride facilities like the Royal Highland Centre, and catch shuttle buses like X12 or X22 to the stadium.

On Foot or Public Ride

Walking from central Edinburgh takes about 45 minutes. Buses run from key hubs with contactless payment or the Lothian Bus app. Trams aren’t an option for this route.

Road Closures and Local Advice

Several streets will be closed during events for safety and crowd control, including Riversdale Bridge, Roseburn Street, parts of Russell Road, and areas around Saughtonhall and Roseburn Gardens, especially between 2 PM to 12:30 AM.

Pedestrians should use designated walkways or head back via the A8 rather than navigating complex Haymarket area closures.

Concert Night Tips: What to Bring & How to Stay Safe

• Bring only essentials: small bag, phone, ID, and card. Murrayfield follows a strict no re-admission policy, so pack wisely.
• Arrive early to beat the rush. Security checks and ticket scanning lines are busy around 6–7 PM.
• Stay hydrated, but note you can’t bring your own alcohol. Expect £7–£8 pints inside.
• Meet-up spots: Arrange a buddy system or a convenient meeting point nearby, phone coverage may be patchy inside the venue.

Why Edinburgh Oasis Shows Matter

This marks Oasis’s first concert in Edinburgh since 2009, and the city is buzzing. Shows coincide with the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, amplifying the cultural energy. The tour has already wowed hundreds of thousands across Cardiff, Manchester, and Wembley, and now Scotland gets a piece of the Britpop spectacle.

Real-Time Tickets: How to Win the Last Minute

• Keep oasistourtickets.com alerts on, returns and cancellations often happen hours before showtime.
• Use multiple devices or browsers to refresh listings.
• Await updates on social channels from fans who may offload extra tickets last-minute.
• Be ready to buy when a viable ticket appears. Expect demand to spike in the evening before and on event day.
